Happy Halloween!!!

Well, I survived the California wildfires and I finally am able to get on my computer and get some work done! It has been a very hard week as my family and friends were evacuated and we were getting ready to be evacuated as well. Luckily for us, the winds changed directions and the fire went the other way. The fire closest to us is still burning and they are hoping to get it put out completely in a few more days. My asthmatic bronchitis has really acted up due to all the smoke and I had to be put on breathing treatments and more medicine, and that made it impossible for me to go outside in the smoke. The schools were closed and marching band practice was cancelled, so we had some down time as well.

Humpday…. Sorry, no freebie yet…. :(

Well, it has been a tiring week with all the fires surrounding my family here in Southern California. I spent my birthday just watching all the chaos on TV and talking to my poor family members who have been evacuated. None of them could get up here to my house because of the road closures. Talk about  hectic! The saddest thing is that almost 1,500 homes have burned to the ground and the fire was coming up over the hill towards my house last night. Thank goodness the winds shifted!

My mom even fell and broke her hand, as her home is filled up with 13 people who can’t get back to their homes in Ramona yet. What a depressing birthday, as I was very sick with my asthmatic bronchitis due to the smoke here. I am going in to the doctors this morning to get a new inhaler and I feel bad because I did not get a chance to make a new freebie for today. Hopefully I can get one made tonight!

Home from Utah… & Birthday Sale!

I returned home from Utah late Thursday night and I am just getting back in the swing of things! I spent way too much time at airports trying to get home…. first, in Salt Lake City, the stinkin’ security took FOREVER!!! They went through both my carry-on bags, re-ex-rayed my Nintendo Wii system after taking it out of the box to make sure it was not a bomb, they also took my brand new lotion, face wash and hairspray and threw them AWAY!!! CRAP! I paid a lot of money for those at Bath & Body Works! I was just plain P.O.’d and not in a good mood anyway, as I hate flying…. (*long story)… then, at the Phoenix airport it seemed like I was waiting forever and on both planes… my seat was in the last row!!! At least I had a window seat both flights and the flights were quick, about 70 minutes each….. UGH!!! Needless to say, I am so glad to get home – Finally!!! But I have to admit… it was so very nice to be on vacation and not having to rush around and work or take kids to school… or have any house work or cooking to do! And, of course, it was great spending time with my sweet son and his wonderful new wife!!

So, Tuesday it’s my birthday and I want to celebrate by passing on savings to you…. Check this out….

It’s Wednesday – FREEBIE DAY!

I am so happy that it’s Wednesday – I love freebie day! I hope you do, too! I had a great day yesterday – I am still on vacation in Utah, but I have access to 2 computers, so I made a new freebie last night. I was also able to go with my son and DIL to their Dr. appt. – no ultrasound yet, but they did hear the heartbeat and it was great! Her new due date is March 30th. We also did more shopping – Ikea to pick up the bed frame and bedroom furniture, and Costco to exchange the big screen TV for a better one, and to get the large electric fireplace for their bedroom. We ate lunch at Costco and then came home so she could take a nap. We spent time setting up the new TV and playing video games, then we went bowling last night. We picked up her sister from BYU and took her with us – it was really fun, even though I stink at bowling! We came home and watched TV and then I made the freebie for today – so here is a sneak peek:

On Vacation!!

This week I am visiting my son and new daughter-in-law at the new home in Utah.

Here is my travelogue so far:

I left Saturday morning @ 6:00 am, filled up with gas and drove from my home in Murrieta, CA all the way to Orem, UT in my son’s little Mitsubishi Lancer. It was filled with wedding presents from their reception in April and his big screen TV was in the back seat, so my suitcase barely fit in the front passenger’s seat.

I got great gas mileage and only stopped a few times to fill  up with gas, but really only topped it off each time. I stopped in Baker, CA, Las Vegas, NV, St. George, UT (and had lunch there), and a little town 20 miles south of Provo all to get gas. I did great time, and arrived in Orem at 4:00 pm CA time, so really, 5:00 pm – but that’s because I only stopped for a few minutes each time.

We went to IHOP for dinner and then back to his new house to watch TV. He also had a party for his work and they gave away all kinds of prizes, just like the Price is Right, and he won $1,200 worth of camping gear and a Nintendo Wii game set. He already has one, so he is giving it to his younger brother and sister (he is so sweet!)

Sunday, we got up early and went to church. WOW – there are so many kids at their church – like the ratio must be 2 kids to each adult…. so it was rather noisy during the meeting. We came home and had lunch, then watched a movie and his wife made a great dinner – chicken enchiladas YUM! Then I went to bed around 11 pm because I am such a wimp that I can’t stay up late anymore!

Today (Monday) after breakfast, we went shopping at the mall, Walmart & Costco to get some things they needed for their new house. We had lunch at the Tahitian Noni Juice Cafe – it was really good – I had the curry chicken rice bowl – loved it! We drove up to Squaw Peak to the lookout to see the city from very high and it was so beautiful. I did not have my good camera with me, only my phone, so here are the photos I took:

It was pretty windy and cold up there, but so dang beautiful!!

Then, we went shopping around again and came home to play his new video game. He also let me drive his new car, a Mitsubishi Evolution, that has been modified to be a racing car. WOW – I could not believe the power that car has and how fast it can go!!! It really freaked me out at first, but was fun to drive! Then, we ate a great dinner made by my DIL and then watched a movie before we all crashed for the night.

So, I am having a blast and won’t be flying home until Thursday night. Today we are going to the doctor for my DIL’s first ultrasound. Their baby is due in April!!! YAY!!!
